Office Sustainable Design Guide

Furniture is a compilation of different items needed to be arranged all over the premises for business and leisure activities. Office furniture is a set of special items put within a single office or a company building in order to ensure working productivity of the office employees. Office furniture sets usually include series for business hierarchy of all employees: director’s office furniture sets (which include tables with adjacent table decks for visitors, armchairs, fireproof cabinets, etc); conference room sets (compatible tables for negotiations and meetings including chairs); employees’ room sets (sustainable design computer tables with system block compartment, display stand and document lockers, wall-mounted shelves, mobile wheel-based chairs etc.) and other pieces of furniture.

Ecological furniture is gaining popularity. World industry demonstrates the tendency to produce ergonomic furniture of ecologically clean recyclable materials (collectively called sustainable design furniture). Office sustainable design furniture has become a separate issue of the majority of furniture producers. An essential element of sustainable design materials is implementation of non-polluting technologies into the production of office furniture sets. During the whole cycle of furniture production sustainability principles are supposed to be kept to: 1) in raw materials output; 2) in the course of materials processing; 3) final utilization. Sustainable design materials comprise wood (wood-derived materials such as plank or wooden by-product items); metal (special metal alloys used for furniture production) and plastic (synthesized polymeric plastic). Using the furniture produced out of natural components which has no ecological danger is an important decision helping make your office sustainable.
